Renee Maria Osubu was born and raised in the diversity of London. Her surroundings are prominent in her work as she desires to unravel the compartmentalised views within society. From showcasing the community of Harare to exploring brotherhood in Philadelphia, Renee captures different perspectives of life through both photography and film.
The main themes in her work are adolescence, community and representation.
She is a portrait and documentary photographer, best known for her series of work Dear Philadelphia.
Renee is a Davis Peace Project Award winner, BJP Portrait of Britain 2019 winner, a recipient of the Michael Wilson Award and holds a UAL Collection Award.
